Lot of songs releasing these days have composed from westernized musical styles, namely Hip Hop, Rap, R&B......... Bhathiya & Santhush can be identified as the artists who initiated this musical trend in Sri Lanka. Then after lot of musicians came into the scene and also lot of new phrases were introduced to the Sri Lankan Music Vocabulary. Music Industry, Music Production, Featuring Artists, Mixing Artists can be shown as examples.

Another common fact in this music culture is that the involvement of technology. You can make anyone a superstar with aid of technology these days. And the stage performance has a significant impact on artists. Lot of singers do not sing on the stage but they mimic to the track being played from the back.
